Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Hussem Aouar has clarified his rivalry for the penalty shoot-out with Lucas Paqueta.
OL went out to lose to Rennes with a score of 1-4 in Ligue 1 on Sunday. By the end of the game, the team got a penalty. But the picture of football where two players like Aouar and Paqueta competed for the ball among themselves.
At first, the French midfielder was the one holding the ball first to show his desire to kill the goal. But the Brazilian midfielder took over before taking on the role of killing.
“I don’t want to make that penalty a big deal. Usually, I’m someone who wants to take the penalty kick. But I felt that he really needed it. So I gave the ball and gave it to him.
“To be honest, there is nothing. We already talked in the dressing room. We tell ourselves that we have nothing to like.
